Senior Scholarships – If you are a HS senior and received an OHSRA scholarship, you need to send proof of college enrollment to: Sabrina Rust – Via EMAIL (Sabrina_rust@yahoo.com) or MAIL – PO Box 667 Chickasha OK 73023.    Please provide what address you would like your check mailed back to.  Once the enrollment is received a check made to the contestant will be mailed directly back to you!  J

HOMESCHOOL RULE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Students must be in good standing; not ruled undesirÂable for misconduct at school. Students must be under 20 at the first of the National High School Rodeo year (Aug. 1), and are or have been enrolled in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade the year just preÂceding the National Rodeo the contestant is entering as long as they (minimum requirements) have made passing grades in 4 subjects or if carrying less than 4 subjects stuÂdent must have passing grades in all subÂjects, even if they have graduated in the middle of the year or have attended school on half-days, they will be eligible to compete in NaÂtional High School Rodeo through the National High School Finals Rodeo if he/she has not particiÂpated for more than 4 years. Each State/Province Association may adopt their state/province academic policy for grade or credit requirements. Any student attending schools, which apply to high school credits, is eligible if he/she meets all other reÂquirements. Students attending a home school, private school, religious school or correspondence school are eligible for membership if the school is recognized and approved by the state/province board of education ADD: or National Board of Education in the state/province the member is applying for membership. ADD: The contestant would need to show proof that the school they are attending is accredited and that they have met the grade requirements. If the school the student is attending is not accredited by the State or National Board of Education the student shall demonstrate composite grade-level academic proficiency on any State Board or National Board of education recognized achievement test or other mechanism as provided for in State or National Board of education rules. Additionally, a student shall be eligible if they achieve a minimum composite score or survey test score within the average or higher than average range as established by the test service utilized on any nationally-normed test. Demonstrated proficiency shall be used to determine eligibility for the current rodeo season.
A graduate of High School is not eligible for membership of NHSRA after the completion of the National High School Finals Rodeo immediately following their graduating from High School. ADD: A contestant may finish the current rodeo year by showing a GED completion certificate. This certificate would note that the contestant has received a GED and would be considered graduated.
